Charles de la Croix Vaubois , our research intern, is currently working on a project about current use and need for renewable energy forecasting for grid integration. He is also looking at the latest techniques developed for such forecasting.

In particular, Charles is investigating how renewable energy forecasts are used by grid operators. As part of this, he created this survey for professionals and researchers operating in the sectors. The survey will only take about 15 minutes, and it would help us understand how to best assist grid operators to get better forecasts.

The questions are divided in 3 main areas:

– Grid characteristics

– Current use of forecast models for renewable energy sector

– Improvements expected.
