The Fondazione Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC) is hiring a talented, motivated and proactive Post-doctoral associate to work in the Climate Simulations and Predictions division in the framework of the Copernicus C3S tender on Decadal Services (C3S_34c).The location is the CMCC headquarter in Bologna (BO), Italy.
The primary purposes for this position are to develop prototypes for a climate service based on decadal predictions. The candidate will be asked to perform analyses on multi-model outputs, including skill assessments and develop metrics to translate the scientific information of decadal prediction into targeted indices for hydropower renewable energy. Also, the successful candidate will work in the Climate Simulations and Predictions CMCC division to demonstrate the added value of climate forecasts for the private and public sectors.
The initial appointment is for one (1) year, renewable for a second year, starting as soon as possible at an annual salary ranging from 28.000 to 33.000 Euros, comprehensive of benefits, depending on qualification and experience.
