Chatham House’s Energy, Environment and Resources Department is looking for an individual with proven interest in, and knowledge of, issues such as climate change, resource efficiency, circular economy, land economy, the energy transition, and biodiversity.
You will gain direct exposure to the work of a leading international affairs institute and will have the opportunity to attend many of Chatham House’s workshops and other events. You will gain significant experience in research, writing, data analysis and event organization, and will benefit from direct involvement in a number of research projects across a wide range of topics.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- You will carry out research on a variety of topics such as climate change, resource efficiency, circular economy, land economy, the energy transition, biodiversity and many more.
- You will support the efficient organization and running of the Energy, Environment and Resources Department through strong administrative and logistical support.
- You will work with other members of our team in order to coordinate our roundtable events and seminars.
- You will attend research events and meetings and take detailed minutes.
- You will write and proofread content to positively impact our outreach through newsletters, invites and social media posts.
Person Specification
- A bachelor’s or higher degree in environmental science, policy or economics, and related fields.
- A proven interest in environment/energy/sustainable resource use issues
- Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills, and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong IT skills: familiarity with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) is essential and some experience working with databases would be ideal.
- Ability to work well within a team and independently.
- Confident writing skills and experience in research.
- Fluency in English.
