The World Energy & Meteorology Council (WEMC) seeks a proactive, results-driven, Communications and Event Officer with 3 to 10 years of experience. This role involves managing communications and activities for such as the EU Horizon Europe funded CROSSEU project and contributing to our Italian sister company Inside Climate Service (ICS).
As a strong multi-tasker, the post holder should be extremely organised with experience in a range of marketing and communications techniques, and some in event organisation. They should be an effective written and verbal communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. Although desirable, no prior knowledge of weather and climate is required. However, a strong and proven willingness to learn about this field is essential.
Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate and disseminate project output and WEMC/ICS activities, ensuring KPIs are met
- Manage newsletters and coordinate social media communications
- Contribute to event organisation
- Manage project reporting in relation to communication and event tasks
- Coordinate and contribute to WEMC project website content management
Essential Skills
- A University degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational skills and adept at managing multiple priorities
- Proficiency in digital communication platforms including email marketing (e.g. Mailchimp, Constant Contact), social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube), and website management (WordPress).
- Proven administrative skills, including taking minutes, interacting with stakeholders
- Ability to strategize and update communication and content plans
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with SEO, Google Analytics, and planning materials for events
- Experience in conducting remote meetings and webinars using platforms like Zoom or Teams
Compensation and Benefits
- Option for part-time or full-time position
- Competitive salary up to £36,000 per annum (full-time equivalent), depending on qualifications and experience.
- 25 days holiday (full-time equivalent) and 3% company pension contribution
Key Features
- This is a permanent role and can be full-time or part time (minimum 3 days a week)
- It is home based but you will ideally be able to occasionally travel to our office in Norwich
- A permit to work in the UK would be required for UK based applicants (preferred) but overseas applicants may be considered too
