C3S Energy Webinar 003 – Seasonal Forecasts

Thank you to all who attended our recent C3S Energy Seasonal Forecasts webinar on Friday, 5 July 2019, 10:00-11:00 (BST). The webinar focused on the seasonal information dataset being developed for the C3S Climate Data Store (CDS).

The CDS provides a monthly ensemble of seasonal information forecasts for classic variables such as temperature, pressure and radiation, along with forecasts of dedicated indicators addressing energy production and consumption challenges. More specifically wind, solar and hydro production indicators are provided alongside an electricity consumption indicator. The webinar provided an overview of the CDS dataset and how this information can be integrated into an organisation’s own processes.

This was the third in a new series of webinars from the World Energy & Meteorology Council (WEMC) and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), aimed at sharing information and knowledge from the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) Energy project.

The webinars are designed to benefit sectoral end users, policy-makers, climate scientists, climate students or those in related fields who want to acquire additional skills.

A recording of the Seasonal Forecasts webinar will be available soon. Future webinars in the C3S Energy series will be announced on our website and via our Twitter feed @WEMCouncil.
