Salomon Obahoundje is a climate and energy scientist who recently received a PhD in Energy-Climate-Environmental Sciences from Félix Houphout Boigny University in Côte d’Ivoire. He also holds a Master’s research degree in Climate Change and Energy from Abdou Mouni University (WASCAL program, Niger) and a Master’s in theoretical physical sciences from Abomey-Calavi University (Benin). Since his Master’s level, his research work has focused on the climate-land-energy-water nexus. He specifically assessed the impacts of land use and land cover dynamics and climate change on West Africa’s hydropower generation.

He has experience in climate data and extreme climate events analysis, climate and environmental change impacts on water resources and power generation, as well as spatial hydrology.

Salomon joined WEMC as a Data Engineer and is working on climate change issues for energy, under C3S Energy, and other projects.
