1. What inspired you to enter the field of energy and climate? Was there a moment or experience that made you commit to this path?
Thank you for this stimulating question. When choosing my professional path, I always aimed to prioritise areas where I could contribute meaningfully, and I believe that climate and energy are among the most critical issues of our time. These two fields are deeply interconnected, shaping not only our environmental future but also societal and economic systems.
In my work, I frequently organise events that bring together leading climate scientists to frame the discussion and provide a clear understanding of the challenges we face. The energy sector is also well-represented, with startups, companies, and investors coming together to explore collaborative solutions. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to advancing innovation and dialogue in this space.
2. Who has been a significant inspiration in your life and career, and how has their influence shaped your work in the energy and climate field?
I am deeply inspired by the wealth of knowledge shared by internationally renowned scholars, thought leaders, and the organisations I collaborate with, particularly in Geneva. Staying informed is a priority for me. I regularly attend conferences and engage with experts in the climate and energy sector.
While I used to read more books in the past, I’m pleased to say that I’ve recently made time to return to this habit. I also read around ten articles a day on climate and energy topics, sharing the most compelling ones on LinkedIn to inspire dialogue and raise awareness. Looking ahead, I hope to contribute more actively to the conversation by returning to writing articles myself.
3. What impact do you hope your work in the field will have on the broader energy and climate landscape?
I focus on green innovation —a fascinating yet often controversial area. I am to drive the development of sustainable solutions that align with social and environmental needs.
Recently, I’ve become particularly interested in climate education—a crucial yet underdeveloped element in global climate action. Despite being highlighted in the Paris Agreement, there’s still much work to be done to ensure students of all ages have access to climate education. I believe it’s time to guarantee this fundamental right.
Andrea’s passion for advancing green innovation and prioritising climate education underscores the need of diverse perspectives and actionable solutions in addressing the energy and climate challenges of our time. His commitment to fostering collaboration and dialogue is not only inspiring but also essential for driving meaningful change. We look forward to seeing the impact of his work on the global energy and climate landscape.
Andrea has worked with universities, foundations, and think tanks primarily across Europe. Passionate about sustainability and innovation, he has organised impactful events for startups, companies, and investors. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys history, art, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Swiss lakes and mountains.
